Arizona Desert Wedding in the Superstition Mountains

The Paseo Wedding Venue in the Superstition Mountains

Located in Apache Junction, Arizona, The Paseo sits at the base of the Superstition Mountains and offers one of the most dramatic desert backdrops in the state and is the perfect Arizona desert wedding venue. We chose this venue because of its open air ceremony space, modern desert design, and unobstructed mountain views. Getting married in front of the Superstition Mountains felt like the perfect reflection of our love for Arizona and the outdoors. It was the outdoorsy wedding of our dreams!

Wedding Signs

Our wedding signs were inspired by national parks and national forests, reflecting our love for the outdoors and public lands. From our “Entering the Wedding of Lauren and Owen” welcome sign styled like a park entrance, to our “Find Your Park” seating chart, we wanted every detail to feel like a nod to the places that shaped our relationship. Instead of table numbers each table was assigned a National Park we have been to with a photo of us. We used Echings by Emma and she brought our dream to life!

Wedding Cake

For our wedding cake, we wanted to continue the outdoorsy theme throughout every detail. We shared a few inspiration photos with our cake designer, and she brought our vision to life perfectly. The design featured desert tones and mountain elements that tied seamlessly into our Arizona desert wedding. We found our custom cake topper on Etsy to complete the look.

Venue

The Paseo was our dream wedding venue, and we ended up waiting two years to get married because of how in demand it is. We originally submitted a few dates we loved, but many were already taken. In one case, another couple had expressed interest in a date but had not yet put down a deposit. When they ultimately decided not to move forward, we immediately secured the date with our deposit. It felt meant to be!

Since the Superstition Mountains are our favorite place in Arizona and where we got engaged, getting married in front of those same mountains made it even more special.

Other Outdoorsy Details

We wanted every detail of our wedding to reflect our love for the outdoors. Our invitations, purchased on Etsy, featured the Superstition Mountains, setting the tone from the very beginning. We also chose mountain inspired vow books that felt perfectly aligned with our Arizona desert wedding in the Superstitions. It was important to us that even the smallest details felt connected to the landscape we love.

Desert Inspired Reception Lounge

For our reception, we added a desert inspired lounge setup that felt relaxed and modern. The neutral sofa, textured rug, and warm wood tones complemented the Superstition Mountains backdrop perfectly at golden hour.

The furniture was rented through a vendor recommended by The Paseo, as the lounge pieces are not included with the venue. It was one of our favorite design elements and created a cozy space for guests to gather and enjoy the evening.

Reception Dress

For our reception, I changed into a short feather dress that felt fun and a little unexpected. I found it at ASOS and loved the beaded detailing and textured feather skirt. It was perfect for dancing and celebrating while still feeling bridal.

The exact dress is currently sold out, but I’ve linked it here in case it restocks.

Hi There!

We're Lauren and Owen -

We started The AZ Hikeaholics as a way to share our adventures with an audience that was interested. It soon grew into a community and we were all in! The more we learned about the history, geology, culture, biology etc, of the places we were exploring, the more we wanted to know.
